Update – Aggravated Assault – Arrest: C24-71999

As previously released, on April 2, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a restaurant in the 200 block of Osborne Street for the report of a serious assault.

West District, General Patrol officers attended and located a 45-year-old male victim who had sustained a serious injury to the upper body. The suspect, who is known to the victim, fled the area prior to police arrival. 

Attending officers provided emergency medical care, and the victim was transported to hospital in critical condition but later upgraded to stable.

The Major Crimes Unit continued to investigate.

On April 3, 2024, at approximately 12:15 p.m., while in the 200 block of Osborne Street, members of the Winnipeg Police Service located and arrested the suspect.

Ethan Joseph MUSWAGON, 25 years was arrested and charged with the following:

- Aggravated Assault

- Robbery

- Failing to Comply with Probation Order x 2

- Failing to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking

He was detained in custody.
