Public Assistance Requested – Homicide Investigation: C23-220195

As previously released, on September 10, 2023, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol Units and the Tactical Support Team responded to the 200 block of College Avenue for the reports of a male who had been shot.

An adult male was located outside an apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased was identified as Daniel Raymond GARVEY-RODRIQUEZ, 25 years old.

Members of the Homicide Unit continued to investigate and have now identified a suspect in relation to the deaths of GARVEY-RODRIQUEZ, 25, and previously released Edgar Allan BEAR, 56.

These two incidents are not believed to be related.

Maxim Dale GARNEAU, 27 years old, has been identified as the suspect. After consultation with the Manitoba Prosecution Service, two charges of Second Degree Murder have been authorized, and Warrants of Arrest have been issued.
