On February 29, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a residential fire in the 800 block of Redwood Avenue.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were already on scene and had combatted the fire. Nobody was at home at the time of the fire, but unfortunately three family dogs perished.

Animal Services was notified.

The investigation was taken over by the Major Crimes Unit and is being investigated as an arson.

Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance and any piece of information may be considered helpful to the investigation.
