On March 3, 2024 at approximately 9:20 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 2200 block of McPhillips Street for the report of an adult female who had been assaulted and robbed.

North District General Patrol officers attended and located a 21-year-old victim suffering from upper body injuries sustained from having been physically assaulted. Officers arrested an adult female suspect still on scene without incident. The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition where she received medical attention for her injuries.

During the investigation, officers determined that the victim and a co-worker had provided the suspect access to the washroom of their workplace shortly before closure. After closing the eating establishment, the victim and her co-worker were approached by the suspect who had already left the premises. The suspect proceeded to physically assault the victim causing her to fall to the ground. The suspect continued the assault rendering the victim unconscious. The suspect fled on foot after robbing the victim of her backpack which contained personal property.

Tyesha Autumn BAPTISTE, 24, of Winnipeg was charged with Robbery and was detained in custody.
