Homicide Update – Arrest: C24-28849

The Winnipeg Police Service previously released surveillance images of two suspects involved in the murder of 19-year-old River HARPER on February 7, 2024, in the 300 block of Assiniboine Avenue.

After receiving assistance from the public, investigators have identified both individuals. 

On February 23, Jadar MORRISON, 20 years old, was arrested and turned over to members of the Homicide Unit. MORRISON has been charged with Manslaughter and detained in custody.

Also identified is Jrayden MONIAS, 21 years old. The Homicide Unit previously requested the public’s assistance to locate MONIAS, also wanted for Manslaughter.

On February 26, MONIAS was arrested by RCMP in Island Lake, Manitoba, on the strength of the warrant. He was turned over to members of the WPS Homicide Unit and detained in custody.
