On February 13, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a commercial robbery at a fast food restaurant in the 1100 block of Main Street. The suspect approached the counter, made a threat of having a firearm, and demanded money.

He then escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, and the investigation continued.

On February 14, at approximately 11:15 a.m., the same suspect attended to a financial institution in the 1100 block of Rothesay Avenue, again demanding money with the threat of having a firearm.

He then fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police searching the area located the suspect near Raleigh/McLeod. He did not have a firearm.

The Major Crimes Unit took over both investigations, and a 28-year-old male, Victor Mutombo ILUNGA, has been charged with Robbery x 2. He was detained in custody.

It should be noted that nobody was physically injured during these robberies, and police recovered a quantity of the stolen funds.
