On February 13, 2024, at approximately 8:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the Osborne Transit Station for the report of a male passenger who had been stabbed.

Officers provided emergency medical care, including a chest seal, to a male victim in his 20s. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

The initial stages of the investigation indicated that amid racial slurs from another male on the bus, the victim was threatened and physically assaulted. The bus was stopped, and both males exited. Police were contacted, and the suspect fled.

The suspect is described as a white male who is 20-30 years old with a slim build.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and is asking anyone with information to call investigators at 204-986-6219 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 204-786-TIPS or winnipegcrimestoppers.org
