Update:

The Winnipeg Police Service’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) arrested an additional person as part of an ongoing drug investigation. Several individuals were previously arrested in Winnipeg and in the Morden/Winkler area and charged with drug trafficking and firearm-related offences.

This most recent arrest occurred on January 26, 2024, involving a 27-year-old female who was taken into custody in the 1600 block of Plessis Road. A search warrant at the residence revealed 3 kilograms of fentanyl and 1 kilogram of cocaine with an estimated street value of 1.6 million dollars. 

She is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2 – Cocaine and Fentanyl
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

She was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.

As previously released:

The Winnipeg Police Service previously released details about a drug trafficking investigation involving the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the Morden and Winkler Police Services.

On January 24, 2024, over $600,000 worth of illicit drugs were seized, along with two loaded firearms and more than $50,000 in cash.

A 30-year-old male, Justin Lewis RANCOURT, was charged with 11 drug trafficking and firearms offences.

A 24-year-old male, Nikita KUANDYKOV and a 19-year-old male, Omar TALIB, were also charged with drug trafficking offences.
