On January 30, 2024, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers patrolling in a marked police vehicle at Alexander Avenue near Laura Street were passed by a stolen 2005 Ford Explorer.
Officers initiated a distant follow and requested support from the Flight Operations Unit (Air1). The vehicle immediately fled, driving in a manner dangerous to the public in an attempt to evade police. Due to the suspect’s manner of driving, officers disengaged their pursuit, and Air1 maintained visual containment of the vehicle.
Air1 members observed the vehicle stop in the 300 block of Alexander Avenue, where the driver and a passenger exited, and the male entered a nearby residence. With direction from Air 1, Central General Patrol Units located the female hiding nearby between residences and arrested her without incident.
At approximately 10:55 p.m., with assistance from the Tactical Support Team, the driver was directed out of the residence, arrested without incident, and taken into custody.
Through their investigation, officers learned the 2005 Ford Explorer had previously been reported stolen on January 30, 2024, from a residence in the 1300 block of Selkirk Avenue.
