Motor Vehicle Collision involving Pedestrian: C24-20037

On January 26, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a serious motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian in the 1400 block of Pembina Highway.

Dispatched West District General Patrol officers attended and located a 23-year-old female suffering from serious injuries sustained in the collision. Officers provided the victim with emergency medical care before the arrival of ambulance. She was transported to hospital in critical condition, where she remains in guarded condition. The 58-year-old driver of the involved vehicle remained on scene and spoke with officers.

The investigation determined that the victim had run in front of the involved vehicle, driven southbound on Pembina Highway between Clarence and Boston Avenues. The vehicle collided with the pedestrian, resulting in serious bodily injuries. The driver stopped and remained on scene to speak with attending officers.

Members of the Traffic Division have assumed the investigation.
