Commercial Break & Enter – Arrest: C24-11860

Released: January 18, 2024 at 7:45 a.m.

On January 16, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a business in the 3600 block of Portage Avenue for the report of a Commercial Break & Enter.

General Patrol officers attended and observed that the business had sustained damage, including a smashed overhead door. No suspects were located. A short time later, officers responded to another business nearby regarding a similar Commercial Break & Enter. A vehicle was stolen and driven through the overhead door.

At approximately 3:05 a.m., patrolling officers observed the previously stolen vehicle in the 200 block of Talbot Avenue. The vehicle was safely stopped, and two occupants were taken into custody.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued the investigation.

Devin Dakota KASPER, 22 years old of Winnipeg, has been charged with the following:

- Break & Enter with Intent

- Break & Enter Commit Theft

- Mischief Over $5000

- Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited

- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

He was detained in custody.
