Homicide Investigation – Arrest: C24-7353

The Winnipeg Police Service’s Homicide Unit continues to investigate the stabbing death of 19-year-old Binesi KENNEDY, which occurred on January 10, 2024 in the 100 block of Arrow Street.

On January 14, investigators charged 46-year-old Anna Marie HANSKA, of Winnipeg, with Second Degree Murder as authorized in consultation with Manitoba Justice.

The suspect and the victim were not previously known to one another.

She has been detained in custody.

As previously released:

On January 10, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a stabbing incident in the first 100 block of Arrow Street.

Officers attended and located an injured adult male who was transported to hospital in critical condition. The male has since succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Binesi KENNEDY, 19 years old.

The Homicide Unit has been assigned and continues to investigate.
