On January 11, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 100 block of Furby Street for the report of an adult female who had been shot.
Central General Patrol officers, assisted by members of the Tactical Support Team, located a 48-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Officers provided emergency medical care to the victim by applying a chest seal. She was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable. A suspect fled on foot before the arrival of police.
The Major Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation. No arrests have been made.
