Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision: C24-3405

On January 5, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Reenders Drive and Stapon Road.

The investigation has determined that a 59-year-old male driver of a Toyota Tundra was travelling eastbound on Reenders Drive when an adult female pedestrian was struck. The 70-year-old pedestrian was transported to hospital in critical condition and later pronounced deceased.

Prior to the fatal collision, the deceased was involved in a minor motor vehicle collision and was crossing the street after exchanging particulars with the other driver. It was at this time she was struck by the Toyota Tundra and fatally injured.   

All parties involved remained on scene, and the investigation is continuing by members of the Traffic Division.
