Drug Trafficking & Firearm – Arrests: C23-291671

On December 3, 2023, the Winnipeg Police Service Guns & Gangs Unit executed search warrants at two residences in the Braeside and River East neighbourhoods as part of a drug investigation.

Three individuals from Ontario were taken into custody, and more than $185,000 worth of drugs and a firearm were seized:

  • a Glock handgun
  • ammunition
  • 17 ounces of cocaine (estimated street value of $ $45,000)
  • 55 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $5,000)
  • 2.5 kilograms of fentanyl (estimated street value of $90,000)
  • 461 grams of heroin (estimated street value of $46,000)
  • Percocet pills
  • 1400 grams of cutting agent
  • $7,000 Canadian currency

A 26-year-old male, Samatar MOHIADIN, was charged with the following offences:

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition

- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm

- Possession of Scheduled Substance

- HTA Drive without licence or with invalid licence

- Warrant for First-Degree Murder (Edmonton)

Zakaria MOHAMED, a 35-year-old male, and Jabril FARAH, a 25-year-old male, were charged with:

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

All three accused were detained in custody.
