On November 18, 2023, a 33-year-old male of Winnipeg was arrested and is facing the following drug trafficking and firearm charges:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 3
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
The Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns & Gangs Unit entered into an investigation, resulting in the subsequent arrest of the suspect and seizure of a vehicle at a bar in the 700 block of Corydon Avenue.
A loaded handgun was seized along with approximately $9,000 worth of cocaine, $8,500 in Canadian currency, knives and brass knuckles.
He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
