On November 9, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m. the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and a transit bus in the 600 block of Main Street.

A male in his 60s was transported to hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators determined the victim was crossing the street into oncoming traffic when he was struck by the bus travelling northbound Main.

None of the passengers were injured as a result of the collision, and they were relocated to another bus.

This investigation is continuing by the Traffic Division and is not considered criminal in nature.
