On October 7, 2023 at approximately 1:20 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a hotel complex in the 700 block of Main Street for the report of an adult male who had been stabbed.

North District General Patrol officers assisted by members of the Tactical Support Team attended and located a 45-year-old male victim suffering from upper-body injuries sustained in a stabbing. Officers provided the victim with emergency medical care with the application of a chest seal before ambulance arrived. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.The suspect fled before the police arrived.

No arrests have been made and the Major Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation.
