Drug Trafficking – Arrest: C23-166450

On July 9, 2023, at approximately 9:00 a.m., a Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol unit from the North District attempted a traffic stop near Main Street and Redwood Avenue regarding a Highway Traffic Act infraction.

The vehicle continued driving, and the driver was observed fiddling around inside the vehicle before he eventually stopped at Main/Selkirk.

Police entered a drug investigation, the driver and passenger were taken into custody, and the following items were seized during a subsequent search.

- Approximately 1.2 kilograms of cocaine (with an estimated street value of $32,000)

- 11 grams of crack cocaine (with an estimated street value of $1,100)

- Drug paraphernalia and packaging materials

- $1740 in Canadian currency

Two males in their 50s from Winnipeg face drug-related charges for Trafficking Cocaine and Possessing Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.

They were released on Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
