Drug Investigation – Arrests: C23-156355

In June 2023, members of the Winnipeg Police Service North District Community Support Unit entered into an investigation regarding two individuals and the trafficking of illicit drugs within the Province.

It was learned through investigation that an adult male and adult female suspect possessed a large quantity of illicit drugs and attempted to smuggle them onto a commercial flight in the 600 block of Ferry Road.

On June 28, at approximately 8:00 a.m., North District Community Support Unit members observed the suspects checking in for a flight destined for God’s Lake Narrows at the above address. They were placed under arrest without incident.

Officers seized the following property off both suspects as evidence after a search of their person:

- Approximately 75 grams of Methamphetamine (Estimated Street Value = $3,750)

Estimated street values typically double or triple when sold on remote Reservations.

A 33-year-old male and 56-year-old female, both from God's Lake Narrows, are facing the following offence:

-Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

They were both released by way of Appearance Notice.
