On June 14, 2023, at approximately 6:10 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to Levis Street and Talbot Avenue regarding a collision involving a motorcycle and a van.

While a 50-year-old male was operating his Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Talbot Avenue, an eastbound Dodge van turned north onto Levis Street, cutting in front of the motorcycle, resulting in a serious collision. The motorcyclist was ejected, causing multiple serious injuries. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.

The driver of the van and two other occupants did not remain at the scene but were located in the area a short time later.

Braedon Lee GORDON, 22, of Winnipeg, was charged with the following:

- Operation of a Conveyance Cause Bodily Harm While Impaired

- Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Cause Bodily Harm

- Within 2 hours of Ceasing to Operate a Conveyance is Impaired

- Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited by Order Under Criminal Code

He was detained in custody.
