Strongarm Robbery - Arrest: C23-126206

On May 27, 2023, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the intersection of Fort Street and Graham Avenue for the report of a male who had been robbed.

Downtown Foot Patrol officers attended and located a 42-year-old male suffering from upper-body injuries sustained from a physical assault. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service members assessed the victim at the scene.  An adult male suspect fled before the police arrived.

Through the investigation, Foot Patrol officers learned the suspect approached the victim in the 200 block of Graham Avenue and physically assaulted him about the upper body unprovoked. The suspect proceeded to rob the victim of his bicycle before fleeing.

Downtown Foot Patrol officers identified a male suspect and, on May 29, located him near the intersection of St. Mary Avenue and Hargrave Street. He was placed under arrest without incident.

A 28-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing the charge of Robbery.

He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
