Clandestine Laboratory – Sudden Death: C23-102171

On May 2, 2023, at approximately 2:20 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 200 block of Foxmeadow Drive for the report of an adult male who had been located deceased within a residence.

West District General Patrol officers, attended, located the deceased 39-year-old male, and discovered an inoperative clandestine laboratory (methamphetamine lab) within the residence. The WPS Clandestine Lab Team, assisted by the WFPS Hazmat Team for decontamination purposes, was deployed for the removal of lab equipment/materials and subsequent dismantling of the lab. A 70-year-old female and a 37-year-old male were evacuated from the residence for their safety during the process. A third-party waste management company transported and safely disposed of all hazardous materials.

The deceased male was transported to the hospital pending autopsy. No other injuries were reported from the residents or attending WFPS and WPS members.
