Suspicious Death - Investigation: C23-97045

On April 27, 2023, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted to the area of McDonald Avenue and Gomez Street for the report of a suspicious fire.

Central District General Patrol officers attended and located an involved fire and a deceased victim.

The attending Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service members extinguished the fire, and members of the Forensic Services Unit processed the scene. An autopsy is pending.

The Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation.

Anyone with information or residential/commercial video surveillance footage that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
