On April 16, 2023, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers of the Winnipeg Police Service’s Central District observed a vehicle bearing an inactive license plate operating in the City’s downtown.

Central District Community Support Unit officers conducted a traffic stop at Harriet Street and Bannatyne Avenue. Officers quickly determined the driver, the lone occupant, was operating a stolen vehicle and arrested him without incident. Several controlled substances (Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine, prescription pills), packaging materials, and a loaded handgun were located within the vehicle and seized as evidence.

Officers entered into a drug trafficking investigation involving the suspect and subsequently obtained a search warrant for his residence located in the 300 block of Kennedy Street.

Property seized by officers during the searches of the vehicle and the associated residence included the following items:

- A loaded 9mm handgun

- More than 1 Kilogram of Methamphetamine (Estimated Street Value = $11,000)

- Approximately 154 grams of Fentanyl (Estimated Street Value = $61,500)

- Approximately 30 grams of Cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $2,000)

- Various prescription pills, including Hydromorphone

- $755 in Canadian currency

- Packaging Materials

- Digital Scales

- A Luxury Watch

Kristopher David FALK, 46, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

- Transport Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations

- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 3

- Possession of a firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm

- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon in a Motor Vehicle

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Hydromorphone

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

He was detained in custody.
