Update:

The Homicide Unit continued an extensive investigation into a series of violent incidents on August 22, 2022, within the Point Douglas area.

Three victims, identified as Danielle BALLANTYNE (36), Marvin FELIX (54), and Troy BAGULEY (51), were seriously assaulted. BALLANTYNE succumbed to her injuries, while FELIX subsequently succumbed to his injuries on August 26. Two 15-year-old males were later arrested.

BAGULEY sustained life-altering injuries from which he could not recover and succumbed to his injuries on March 3, 2023.

On March 21, investigators arrested 21-year-old Tristan Colten MOOSE at the Headingley Correctional Centre regarding BAGULEY and charged with Second-Degree Murder. In addition, on April 5, investigators arrested the 15-year-old and a now 16-year-old male at the Manitoba Youth Centre and a 14-year-old male at his residence. As previously indicated, in 2022, investigators arrested both the 15-year-old and the now 16-year-old suspect in the deaths of BALLANTYNE and FELIX.

The victims and suspects were not previously known to one another.

All four have been detained in custody.

The Homicide Unit has concluded its investigation, and further arrests are not anticipated.

Winnipeg Police Service has collaborated with community organizations to provide a trauma-informed and culturally safe support network for the families involved.
