Stolen Vehicle – Arrest: C23-67695

On March 24, 2023, just before 1:00 a.m., General Patrol officers from the Central District observed a suspicious vehicle driving in the Daniel McIntyre neighbourhood. As the police neared the suspect vehicle, it changed lanes suddenly and made a quick turn, eventually stopping in the 700 block of Home Street. 

The driver jumped out and fled on foot, and computer checks confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen two days earlier from Miravista Drive. As the suspect continued running, he discarded a can of bear spray with altered labelling and approximately 38 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $3,000.

With the assistance of AIR1, police units in the area located the suspect in the 700 block of Arlington Street, where he was taken into custody.

A 38-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges :

- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Cocaine
- Possession of a Weapon
- Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited by Order Under Criminal Code
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

He remains in police custody at this time.
