On March 13, 2023, at 7:20 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of a carjacking incident in the 100 block of Foxwarren Drive. A male suspect attempted to steal a vehicle that was running unattended in the victim's driveway. The victim tried to stop the suspect, resulting in a physical altercation in which the victim defended herself. The suspect fled the scene.

Minutes later, the suspect approached another victim with their vehicle running in an open garage nearby. The suspect threatened the victims with a can of bear spray, causing them to flee into their house. The suspect then stole the vehicle and fled the scene, significantly damaging the garage door (which had been closing at the time).

North District General Patrol members were assigned, and at approximately 8:27 a.m., the stolen vehicle was spotted travelling in the area of Artillery Avenue and College Avenue. Officers were able to follow the vehicle, which eventually came to a stop in a parking lot and the suspect was arrested.
