The Major Crimes Unit is investigating after two stabbings occurred near Main Street and Mayfair Avenue on February 18, 2023.

At approximately 7:15 p.m., the first victim (a female in her 20s) was followed off a bus by an unknown female when she exited at Main/Mayfair. The victim was walking for a short distance when she was unexpectedly stabbed by the suspect. She escaped to safety by jumping on another bus and contacted police. Fortunately, she was not injured as the weapon did not puncture through all of her clothing.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., police responded to the east side of Main Street for a second female victim (in her 20s) who was stabbed and robbed of her belongings. The suspect, believed to be the same in both incidents, fled northbound on Main Street. The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Investigators in the Major Crimes Unit are working to identify the suspect. Anyone with information can call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS(8477).
