On February 14, 2023, at 5:45 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers responded to a residential suite in the Spence neighbourhood for a report of a dispute.
While investigating the matter, it was determined that a male suspect had pointed a firearm at an adult female.
The suspect was arrested inside the suite, and a loaded 7.62×39mm SKS semi-automatic rifle was seized. Officers also located approximately 90 rounds of ammunition and 5.41 ounces of fentanyl (with a street value of about $23,000).
Nathaniel Gerald Rauch, a 29-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Pointing a Firearm
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations x 2
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
He was detained.
