Members of the Homicide Unit have made additional arrests in the homicides of Carl George Wescoupe, a 40-year-old male, and Lee James Boulette, a 40-year-old male.
- On January 29, 2023, at 5:23 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a hospital for a report of a seriously injured male. Officers were then directed to a hotel suite in the 600 block of Main Street, where they located Wescoupe deceased.
- On February 1, 2023, at 10:10 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a hotel in the 800 block of Main Street where a male had attended for help after being stabbed. Officers were then directed to a residence in the 100 block of Selkirk Avenue, where they located Boulette deceased.
Members of the Homicide Unit determined that both incidents were linked and identified several suspects. The incidents are not believed to be random.
The following charges are new:
Jordan Elvin McFadyen, a 27-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- First-Degree Murder x 2 (Wescoupe & Boulette incidents)
- Aggravated Assault x 2 (Wescoupe & Boulette incidents)
Rory Shane Nash, a 39-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- First-Degree Murder x 2 (Wescoupe & Boulette incidents)
- Aggravated Assault x 2 (Wescoupe & Boulette incidents)
Eyan Douglas Ballantyne, a 33-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Manslaughter (Wescoupe incident)
- Aggravated Assault (Wescoupe incident)
The above is in addition to the three other arrests previously announced on February 6, 2023:
Kurtis Joseph Dilallo, a 39-year-old male of Winnipeg, was charged with:
- First-Degree Murder x 2 (Wescoupe & Boulette incidents)
- Aggravated Assault x 2 (Wescoupe & Boulette incidents)
Robert Shawn Murdock, a 31-year-old male of Winnipeg, was charged with:
- First-Degree Murder x 2 (Wescoupe & Boulette incidents)
- Aggravated Assault x 2 (Wescoupe & Boulette incidents)
Ernest John Young, a 54-year-old male of Winnipeg, was charged with:
- First-Degree Murder x 2 (Wescoupe & Boulette incidents)
- Aggravated Assault x 2 (Wescoupe & Boulette incidents)
All six have been detained.
