On February 9, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 600 block of Toronto Street for the report of an adult female who had been shot in her residence.

General Patrol officers from the Central, East, and West Districts assisted by members of the Tactical Support Team and K-9 were dispatched to the area to assist in locating three suspects who had fled on foot. Officers located an adult female victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body in the residence. She was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and learned that after the suspects attended and forced their way into the residence, one suspect produced and discharged what is believed to be a firearm at the victim, striking her in the lower body.

No arrests have been made, and the Major Crimes Unit continues investigating.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
