Between November 2022 and January 2023, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Sex Crimes Unit received three reports of an adult male performing an indecent act while travelling on a Transit bus on three separate occasions.

A teenage female unknown to the suspect was coincidentally a passenger during all three incidents and contacted police.

With the assistance of Winnipeg Transit, investigators obtained a description of the suspect captured on surveillance and worked to identify him.

On January 17, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the victim boarded the same bus route and observed the suspect on the bus. She observed him performing an indecent act and contacted police. The bus was stopped at Wellington Crescent and Academy Road, where General Patrol officers took the male into custody.

Drayton MacKenzie ALGER (27), of Winnipeg, was turned over to the Sex Crimes Unit and charged with Indecent Act x 4. He was released by way of Crown Consent as mandated by the Criminal Code.
