As previously released:

On January 12, 2023, at 5:42 a.m., Central District General Patrol units responded to a residence in the 400 block of Beverley Street for a report of a disturbance and the sound of gunshots.

Upon arrival, officers located a male (in his 20s) outside the house who had been shot and provided emergency medical care – including the use of a chest seal. The victim was transported to a hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition, where he remains.

Update:

General Patrol officers arrested a female suspect within the house, while a male suspect was taken into custody near Victor Street and Ellice Avenue. Both were turned over to the Major Crimes Unit, which continued with the investigation.

It is believed that the 24-year-old victim was previously known to at least one of the suspects and that the shooting had occurred inside.
