On December 30, 2022, members of the Guns & Gangs Unit conducted a traffic stop on a taxi in the 400 block of William Avenue in relation to a firearm and drug trafficking investigation. An adult male passenger was taken into custody.

As a result of this investigation, the following items were seized:

- a loaded sawed-off shotgun and compatible ammunition

- a 22-calibre semi-automatic rifle

- 106 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $3,500)

- 9 grams of crack cocaine (estimated street value of $900)

- 30 grams of fentanyl (estimated street value of $3,500)

- 15 grams counterfeit pills (estimated street value of $3,000)

- drug trafficking and packaging materials

A 46-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing 13 firearm and drug trafficking-related charges.

He was released on an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
