Firearms & Drug Trafficking – Arrests: C22-294852

On December 20, 2022, the Guns & Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Stella Avenue. An SKS rifle and approximately $56,000 worth of illicit drugs were seized as a result of this investigation.

Four adults were taken into custody, and the following items were seized:

- an SKS rifle and ammunition

- various firearm components

- approximately 466 grams of Methamphetamine (estimated street value of $23,000)

- approximately 370 grams of Ketamine (estimated street value of $33,000)

- approximately $7,000 Canadian currency

- a money counter

- cell phones

- packaging materials

A 19-year-old female, Lakeesha Matilda Paige YOUNG, was charged with the following offences: 

- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 3

- Warrant for Failing to Comply with Release Order x 5

- Warrant for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

- Warrant for Failing to Attend Court

- Warrant for Failing to Comply with Probation Order

A 31-year-old male and a 41-year-old female are also facing drug trafficking and firearm-related charges. They were released on an Appearance Notice as mandated by the Criminal Code.
