Stabbing – Investigation: C22-288831

On December 13, 2022, at approximately midnight, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a stabbing inside a convenience store located in the 700 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Officers attended the store and met with the victim, a male in his 20s. He had been stabbed and was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Initial information indicated the victim was walking in the area with a friend when an unknown male confronted them. Fearing for his safety, the victim ran into a nearby store while his friend managed to run away. The suspect followed him into the store, and a physical fight resulted in the victim getting stabbed and the suspect fleeing.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.

The suspect is described as a 20-30-year-old male with a brown skin tone; he had thick eyebrows and was wearing light blue jeans and a ball cap.
