On December 12, 2022, at approximately 10:30 a.m., members of the East District Community Support Unit observed two males involved in what was believed to be a close contact drug transaction at the rear of a business in the 500 block of St. Mary’s Road.
One of the males drove away before his vehicle could be identified, and the other male entered a nearby running vehicle. The suspect then exited the vehicle and placed something in the backseat.
He was subsequently taken into custody, and the following items were seized during the investigation:
- 20 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $2,000)
- 30 Percocet pills (estimated street value of $150)
- $9,500 Canadian currency
A 20-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
