Homicide – Investigation: C22-264160

On November 12, 2022, at approximately 5:20 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 400 block of William Avenue for the report of an injured female.

Central District General Patrol officers attended and located a 23-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Officers provided emergency medical care to the victim using CPR before ambulance arrived. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition; however, she succumbed to her injuries. No arrests have been made.

The Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation. Investigators have now identified the victim as 23-year-old Delany Nora DESMARAIS of Winnipeg.
