On November 3, 2022, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a male armed with a knife in the Millenium Library located at 251 Donald Street.

Central District Foot Patrol officers attended and located the male suspect sitting in the library's lobby and safely placed him in custody.

Through their investigation, officers learned the suspect had attended to the fourth floor of the library, where he, at one point, produced a knife and began acting erratically in front of patrons and staff members. Millenium Library Security officers followed the suspect to the lobby and contacted the police.

A 41-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing the following charge:

- Possession of a Weapon

He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
