As a result of two overnight traffic stops, North District officers seized two firearms and arrested five people.

On November 3, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Community Support officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop at Selkirk/McGregor.

One of the occupants had an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody. A subsequent search revealed a loaded improvised firing device and three rounds of ammunition.

Clifford Kitigas SPENCE, a 38-year-old male of Winnipeg, was charged with:

- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
- Possession of a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking
- Warrant for Failing to Appear Ident

He was detained in custody.

On November 4, at approximately 1:00 a.m., General Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop in the first hundred block of Redwood Avenue on a vehicle believed to be taken without the owner's consent.

As a result of this investigation, the vehicle's four occupants were identified. A sawed-off shotgun, bear spray, and open liquour were located.

Four individuals were taken into custody and are facing firearms-related charges, with the following dispositions:

A 25-year-old male is in police custody.
A 25-year-old male is in police custody.
A 37-year-old male was released on an Undertaking.
A 34-year-old female was released on an Undertaking.
