As previously released:
On October 31, 2022, at 9:06 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 1200 block of Chamberlain Avenue for a report of an injured male that had been found on the ground.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who had been stabbed and began to administer emergency medical care, including the use of a chest seal. The victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
An adult male suspect was located at a nearby residence and was placed under arrest. He remains in police custody at this time.
Update:
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.
The victim has been identified as an 18-year-old male and remains in critical condition.
It is believed that the victim and the suspect, previously known to each other as associates, had been at the nearby residence (where the suspect was later located) when the victim was stabbed without provocation.
Eric Daniels, a 20-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Attempt to Commit Murder
- Aggravated Assault
He was detained.
