Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – Investigation: C22-242972

Update:

The driver, an 18-year-old male, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The passenger, a 17-year-old male, was pronounced deceased shortly after being transported to a hospital.

The Traffic Division continues to investigate the matter.

As previously released:

On October 18, 2022, at approximately 8:53 p.m., emergency personnel responded to St. Mary’s Road and Guay Avenue for a report of a vehicle that had struck a utility pole.

The driver and a lone passenger (two teenage males) were both transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The Traffic Collision Investigation Section remains on scene, and it is anticipated that northbound St. Mary’s Road at Vivian Avenue will remain closed throughout the morning commute. Please avoid the area and plan an alternative route if possible.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Traffic Division. Anyone with information regarding the matter or that may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-7085.
