Homicide – Arrests: C22-221461

As previously released:

On September 24, 2022, at 1:19 a.m., Central District General Patrol units and the Tactical Support Team responded to a vendor in the 1100 block of Arlington Street for a report of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers located a seriously injured male and began emergency medical care. The male was transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim has since been identified as Enrique George Courchene, a 29-year-old male from Winnipeg.


Update:

The Homicide Unit continued investigating and determined that the victim (Courchene) went to the vendor on Arlington Street, where three unknown males confronted him. A physical altercation took place where Courchene was stabbed and critically injured. He managed to retreat, and the suspects fled the area.

Investigators subsequently identified three suspects in this homicide.

Between September 28 and October 11, the following three males were arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder:

• A 26-year-old male, Jade Allen DUMAS
• A 26-year-old male Calvin Harvey MAYTWAYASHING
• A 36-year-old male Cecil Vance ROULETTE

They were all detained in custody, and no other arrests are expected.
