On October 3, 2022, at 3:51 a.m., Central District General Patrol members responded to the 1400 block of Alexander Avenue for a report of a male with a gun inside a residence.

Several other individuals left the house and were stopped by officers, including a 20-year-old male arrested for an unrelated shooting in the 400 block of Sherbrook Street on September 29, 2022 (see the other media release from October 4, 2022) and a 13-year-old female who was missing.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.

The male (believed to have left the house with the sawed-off .22 calibre rifle) was also arrested for an unrelated carjacking on May 6, 2022, in the Daniel McIntyre neighbourhood.
