On September 20, 2022, at 9:57 p.m., North District General Patrol officers responded to the area of Keewatin Street and Logan Avenue for a report of a male that had been assaulted.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim (in his 20s) at a nearby restaurant who had been stabbed several times and suffered the effects of bear spray. Emergency first aid was administered, including the use of three tourniquets. He was transported to a hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

A female victim (in her 20s) was found nearby and had also been assaulted, suffering minor injuries. She did not require medical assistance at the scene.

It is believed that the two victims, who are acquittances, were walking in the area of McKelvey Street and Logan Avenue when confronted by a group who assaulted them.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
