Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – C22-206523

On September 8, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. An elderly female was crossing Henderson Highway at Oakland Avenue between parked vehicles when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

An off-duty officer driving in the area responded to the scene and provided emergency medical care until emergency services arrived.

The victim, in her nineties, was transported to hospital in unstable condition, where her condition changed to critical.

On September 15, the victim succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators from the Traffic Division met with the driver and several witnesses. An investigation determined the collision was not criminal in nature.
