As previously released:

In April 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Sex Crimes Unit was contacted by eight adults who reported historical incidents of sexual exploitation and abuse by their former high school football coach from the late 1990s to the 2000s.

The accused taught physical education and coached football at Churchill High School and, subsequently, Vincent Massey Collegiate for approximately two decades.

The survivors reported similar accounts of an exploitative relationship forged by the coach leading to sexual offences at his residence.

A 52-year-old male, Kelsey Albert Dana MCKAY of Winnipeg, was charged with 22 sexual assault and exploitation-related charges.

Update:

While continuing to follow up on these investigations, the Sex Crimes Unit was contacted by another former student who reported being exploited and sexually assaulted as a teen by the same high school coach during the 2000s.

On September 7, 2022, MCKAY was charged with two new offences:

- Sexual Assault
- Luring a Child Under 18.

He was released by way of Crown-authorized conditions.
