Homicide – Investigation: C22-182895

On August 13, 2022, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of an injured male on the southeast sidewalk of the Osborne Street Bridge.

Police and emergency services located an adult male with severe trauma to his upper body. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries on August 21.

The victim has been identified as a 28-year-old male, Sydney Frederick CHUBB of Winnipeg.

Chubb’s death is determined to be a homicide; the Major Crimes Unit is continuing this investigation.

Investigators seek the public’s assistance from anyone walking or driving in the area at the time of the incident. Any residents with surveillance footage or motorists with dash camera footage are urged to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 204-986-6219, or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 (TIPS).
