Attempt Murder – Arrest: C22-184428

On August 15, 2022, at 1:11 a.m., Central District General Patrol units responded to an apartment building in the 300 block of Broadway for a report of a male who had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers located a critically injured male in a suite and administered emergency medical care, including chest seals and medical bandages. A firearm was discovered nearby and was seized. The male was subsequently transported to a hospital in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable condition.

At 3:47 a.m., a male suspect was arrested after attending a different hospital with minor injuries. A knife was found in his possession and was seized.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation, and it is believed that the victim and suspect had been known to each other as acquaintances.

A 26-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:

- Attempt to Commit Murder
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon

He has been detained and is not being named at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
